From its source in Rotherfield, East Sussex to historic Rye, the River Rother is one of the finest rural rivers in England and has been navigated for centuries. Our river trips follow the river through the High Weald, upstream to the magnificent 14th Century National Trust Bodiam Castle and downstream towards Rye.
Ferry to Bodiam Castle
Up to three return trips a day aboard the ex-Royal Navy Lifeboat, M.V.Dannie Lee.
Nature lovers will enjoy this leisurely 3.8 mile cruise & if you’re lucky, you might spot a heron or kingfisher.
Max 24 people. 45 minutes each way; begin your journey either end.
Second boat available during busy periods, seating additional 12 people.

Private Charter – Dannie Lee
When not on her timetabled trips to the castle, the Dannie Lee is available for private hire for just £100 per hour; perfect for corporate events, school trips, birthday parties, anniversaries, hen and stag parties etc. That's as little as £4.16pp!
Maximum of 24 passengers.
Catering options: Add a Bottle of Bubbles (£25) or Cream Tea (£8pp) on the boat, or a meal at Lime Wharf Cafe or The White Hart Public House.

Private Charter – IRENE
(AVAILABLE FROM 2020) A beautiful vessel, complete with canopy, Irene was built in 1920 in Mahogany and Oak and has an interesting past (link to more info). She is popular for wedding proposals, delivering wedding parties to Bodiam Castle & other special occasions. Let your captain guide you down the River Rother towards Rye or Bodiam Castle in comfort; sit back and enjoy the ride! £120 per hour.
Maximum of 6 adults and 2 children passengers.
