CRUISES AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE CHARTER

From its source in Rotherfield to historic Rye, the River Rother is one of the finest rural rivers in England & has been navigated for centuries. Our trips follow the river through the High Weald, upstream to the magnificent 14th Century National Trust Bodiam Castle & downstream towards Rye. The Rother is widest, with far reaching views at the Rye end, narrowing the closer you get to Bodiam Castle.

Why not combine your trip with a meal or afternoon tea at our sister company, Lime Wharf Cafe.

Sunset Saturdays 25 June - 30 July: We are running cruises every Saturday 5-7pm. 12 Tickets on each cruise £20pp (£10 <14yrs). To book, please call us or click on 'book now'

Cruises

Nature lovers will enjoy this 12 mile stretch of the River Rother aboard our ex-Royal Navy Lifeboat, M.V.Dannie Lee. If you’re lucky, you might spot a heron, kingfisher or even a mink.

Unless visiting the castle, we recommend cruising downstream towards Rye, which benefits from tranquility & far reaching views of the countryside. Trips can be booked from 1-3 hours & are popular for family & friend groups, corporate events, school trips, birthday & anniversaries, hen & stag parties etc. A trip on a clear evening can be especially stunning, as the return journey is in full view of the setting sun.

Available 7 days a week.
Bring a picnic OR pre-order something from our menu @ Lime Wharf Cafe
Optional Extras on the boat: Bottle of Prosecco (£30); Scones with Clotted Cream & Jam (£8pp); Breakfast Bap (£6)
Optional Extras before or after your cruise: Breakfast, Lunch or Afternoon Tea at Lime Wharf Cafe; kayak, canoe, SUP or row boat hire

Ferry Charter to Bodiam Castle

This cruise is a great option for those wanting to arrive at Bodiam Castle in style! The option to disembark at the castle also makes this trip a favourite for larger groups who want to make a day of travelling on the Kent & East Sussex Railway, the ferry boat & visit the castle. With a little forward planning, it is possible to divide your group, meet at the castle & swap transport for the return journey. Each leg of the cruise is 45 minutes & less than 10 minutes by train, so there is time to enjoy the castle grounds without incurring too much cost of the boat waiting at the jetty.

If you don't wish to disembark the boat, simply book the 1.5hr cruise on the button below. If you do want to explore the castle and grounds, please factor this time into your cruise time, as the boat is chargeable whilst away from base.

Maximum 12 people £150 first hour, then £120ph thereafter

Second boat available during busy periods, seating additional 12 people.
